Tips for getting the most out of your virtual appointment

  • Use a bigger screen - Many people use cell phones for quick video calls to each other, a bigger screen makes it much easier for you to see us. We want you to feel like you're here!

  • Be close to your WIFI router - Although you can most likely send and receive email or surf the web from anywhere in your home, the distance from your WIFI router will effect the quality of your connection. Closer is better when possible.

  • Make sure you have a comfortable place - some people are always on the go. You will get much more out of your appointment if you set aside a quiet place and a comfortable chair.

  • Have plenty of light - you don't have to be under a spotlight, but good lighting means a much better picture. Windows and lights behind you will make your faces hard to see. We need to be able to see you!

  • Have childcare available - having someone watching the kids is the best option, but we're realistic and know that childcare is not always available. A little planning can go a long way by making sure they are occupied with their favorite show or favorite game. This gives you a chance to focus more.

  • Limit your distractions - nothing can break your focus like an updated post or a text message. Even if you ignore it there is always the back part of your mind that is thinking "was it important".  Please put all social media and text messaging on do not disturb. This way you can focus on what is most important. You!
